Smoky Mountain Stargaze will have tent camping available at the following rates:
Ages 18 and up (one day): $10 ea.
Ages 18 and up (three or more days): $30 ea. (pre-register for $25)
rv hookups
$65 per RV. Pre-registration is recommended! After space runs out, RVs will be welcome, but will not have hookup! RV hookups include 20A circuit for power and water. Tanks will be emptied on Friday, April 4th.
facilities
Electricity for telescopes and equipment, water, restrooms, and showers will be available on-site. In addition, we will have a 24-hour concession stand and local groups will provide meals at an additional cost.
hotels
There are thousands of hotel rooms within 8 miles of the Smoky Mountain Stargaze. Due to tourist influxes on the weekends, we recommend that you reserve a room in advance. Prices in Cherokee during this time of year generally range from $55 - $200 per night.
However, we have reserved 19 rooms at a motel that has agreed to turn off all outdoor lighting approximately 500 yards from the observing field (easy walking distance) at discounted rates of $45 on weekdays and $55 on Friday and Saturday nights. These are available with pre-registration while rooms are available.
